Description

These responsibly-sourced Indonesian vanilla pods are bold and earthy, containing smoky, dark vanilla notes.

Rich, plump and full of flavour due to their high vanillin content, these natural vanilla pods are grown at our collaborative orchard in Bali, where the LittlePod farmers use a pioneering system of polyculture to increase biodiversity, improve soil fertility, and regenerate the natural rainforest environment around them.

This particular vanilla type has a unique smoky flavour with earthy undertones. It is best used in rich desserts, chocolates and caramels.

The smokiness pairs well with savoury dishes such as curries, and in brown butter, barbecue and cream sauces.

How to use: Place a vanilla pod on a chopping board. Carefully split in half by running a sharp knife down the length of the bean. Run the blade down the inside of the pod to scrape the seeds out. Add the seeds to sweet and savoury dishes for a divine vanilla flavour.

Once opened, keep in an airtight container in a cool dark place.
