Our award winning Free Range Bronze Turkeys, from a small family farm in Devon, arrive chilled ready for cooking on Christmas day.

When cooking:

1. Remove the Turkey from any packaging including string and giblets, pat it dry and bring it to room temperature.
Preheat oven to 180°C / 360°F / gas mark 4.
2. Gently rub softened butter all over the turkey, followed by a generous seasoning of salt and pepper.
3. Place the turkey in a deep roasting dish and cover with tin foil.
3. Roast the turkey in the pre-heated oven for 23-30 minutes per kg, basting at least every hour.
4. For the final 40 minutes, remove the tin foil.
5. Once cooked, take the turkey out of the oven and leave to rest in a warm environment for 20-30 minutes.

You can tell if the turkey is good by simply piercing the thick or breast meat in the thickest part. If the juices run clear, its cooked through. You can also use a meat thermometer to measure the internal temperature of the meat at its thickest point. When the meat reaches 65 degrees celsius internally, it is cooked.

Storage:

Store long term in your freezer, until you are ready to cook. Thaw prior to cooking, keep refrigerated and cook within 5 days.
All our products are sent out frozen. If thawed when they arrive, you can refrigerate and use within 5 days, or they are suitable for refreezing at home too.

Why Frozen:

We know there are stereotypes around frozen food, but we do things a little differently to make sure our produce is of the highest quality. We follow a blast freezing process, unlike conventional freezing, which keeps the ice crystals formed as small as possible, so that it does not affect the taste or texture of the meat.

The end result is naturally preserved produce, without relying on artificial preservatives, that is professionally frozen by our team of master butchers at its peak quality, ready for you to enjoy at your convenience.

We’re confident that you will see how this process results in better tasting food. If you try some and still don’t agree, please get in touch with our team directly.
