At Devon Cove we create exceptional vodka using King Edward potatoes, lovingly grown on our family farm overlooking Hope Cove in South Devon.
Our copper pot, single distilled vodka is handcrafted in an artisan distillery, made only from the finest ingredients, to ensure its smooth, luxurious taste.
Our Beginnings
We have been growing quality Devon potatoes in the Atlantic sea air for over 50 years and we love them! After many discussions around the dinner table about the different ways you can cook and enjoy potatoes we decided to take things a step further and make potato vodka.
Our Process
We found that using the finest Devon potatoes and Devon spring water combined with small batch traditional copper pot distillation creates a distinctly smooth and delicious vodka that captures the essence of our county. Who doesn’t love the sea and fresh home-grown food?
Our First Batch
Our very first batch of Cove Vodka was made from King Edward potatoes, grown in rich soil in fields overlooking Hope Cove, South Milton Sands and the renowned Burgh Island. The potatoes were harvested in September 2018 and Cove Vodka was born.
More About Our Vodka
The only ingredients that go into our vodka are our potatoes grown in the fresh sea air, Devon Spring Water and a little yeast and enzymes added during fermentation.
It’s as pure, clean and wholesome as a vodka can be. What’s more, the carbs in the potatoes don’t translate into the vodka so it’s exceptionally low carb and there is no sugar either. It’s about as low in calories as an alcoholic drink can be.
The key to a great vodka is a really smooth vodka. Using potatoes enables you to create an exceptionally smooth and creamy vodka which is exquisite on its own or with a mixer; hence why potato vodka is often the first choice for connoisseurs.
Our Perfect Serve
We love Cove Vodka served on its own or with ice, chilled soda water and a squeeze of fresh lime. For a more indulgent drink try one of our favourite cocktails that are listed on our How to Enjoy page
More About Our Potatoes
Our family have been growing potatoes in the South Hams since the 1960s. Lidstone’s potatoes are well loved throughout the county and beyond, and can be spotted on many of the fantastic local restaurant and hotel menus. The seed potatoes are planted in early spring, carefully tended to over the summer months and harvested in late Autumn.
